The Carmen Miranda, electric multiple unit train built in the U.S.A. by Pulmann Standard/General Electric, being tested in May 1944. They were bought second hand by E.F. Sorocabana from the New York Transit Authority during the forties and used in São Paulo commuter lines of E.F. Sorocabana and FEPASA. Its name is an hommage to the famous Portuguese-Brazilian singer, The Brazilian Bombshell. This photo was originally published at the 75th Anniversary edition of the E.F. Sorocabana house organ Nossa Estrada (Our Road), in 1950. The copy of this picture was kindly sent by César Sacco, from Indaiatuba SP.
