This photo, shot along the then magnificent double electrified line between Campinas and Jundiaí, shows a Trem Azul, composed of Pullman Standard built cars, returning to São Paulo city. One can note the G.E. V8 electric locomotive heading the train, followed by the Mail/Baggage car, the Lounge Car with rotating chairs (commonly known in Brazil as the Pullman car), the Restaurant car, then the First Class cars and, lastly, the Second Class Cars. This was the traditional set-up of the Interior-Capital trains; the Capital-Interior compositions shows a reverse order, as the set-up was not changed at the Pari switching yards in São Paulo. Photo shot and kindly sent by Luiz Faria de Carvalho, from Marília SP; probaly it was taken in the late forties or very early seventies.
