In 2000 the Anna Costa station and its switchyards were sold; all tracks were pulled out and a big supermarket and a convention center were built there, as this photo shows. The passenger station building was preserved; it is the yellow building at the center of the photo. Right behind it there is a freight train passing by. By the way, in the good days of Anna Costa station this would be a very good place to recover a sick railfan!
