A brand new Dash-9, C44-9W diesel-electric G.E. locomotive. Compare it with the Dash-9 version of E.F. Vitória a Minas. The FerroNorte purchased 50 of these magnific 4,400 HP, D.C. machines, some of them still are being built in the U.S.A. The first 16 arrived last March. Formely the Brazilian G.E. works built similar locomotives. So, if you carefully look to this photo, you can see the presently most successful export product of the Brazilian railroad equipment industry: jobs!
