This is an ad of the General Electric Company, published in the Brazilian editions of the Selections of the Readers Digest during the late forties, about the newly built electrical locomotives for the legendary Companhia Paulista de Estradas de Ferro. This kind of locomotive, some of which apparently are still in operation in July 2001, is nicknamed V8, the same name of a special ladies bra that was in fashion during the forties... Their design was based in that used in the G.E. EP-4 electric locomotives delivered to the New York, New Haven and Hartford american railroad in 1937.
