A passenger train, that just departed from the E.F. Sorocabana Santos station at Avenida Ana Costa - that was sadly extinct in 1999 -, approaches the tunnel entry at José Menino. At right, in the background, one can see the Orquidário, a botanic garden; at the foreground, a soccer field. Later this field was replaced by a sewage treatment plant. This photo was shot from the top of the Santa Teresinha hill, probably - who knows? - in the fifties.
