This is one of the newest trains of the São Paulo city Metrô, built by the French company Alstom in the former industrial installations of Mafersa at the Lapa district. Eleven new trains were ordered; ten are already built at November 1999 and are in the Itaquera maintenance works of the São Paulo Metrô, being adjusted and submitted to dynamical tests before they enter in commercial service. These trains will initially run in the East-West line.
