Rede Ferroviária do Nordeste
This railroad served a significative portion of the northeast region of Brazil, namely the states of Pernambuco, Alagoas, Paraíba
and Rio Grande do Norte. It was originally an English company, "The Great Western Railroad" - an ironic name: it served just
the most eastern portion of Brazil... In 1957 it was integrated in the
R.F.F.S.A., the Brazilian Federal Railroad Network. After the privatization of this network, in 1998, it
belongs to the C.F.N. - Companhia Ferroviária do Nordeste.
