This rare photo shows a G.E.-244 diesel-electric locomotive at service in Rede de Viação Paraná-Santa Catarina. These locomotives had a short career in this railroad, as they did not adapted well in the harsh conditions of the lines, so they were later transfered to E.F. Central do Brasil. This photo, originally published in the book Os Oitenta Anos da R.V.P.S.C. ("The Eighty Years of R.V.P.S.C.") was kindly sent by Ralph Giesbrecht from Santana do Parnaíba, SP.
