BCC2 #218 in OSW green & cream

218 was the second class B1 that was rebuilt with Canadian cabs, but it was rebuilt in St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu instead of Portland, because ILW had an empty slot in their locomotive building schedule and Portland was backed up doing scheduled maintenance on other motors.

It was fitted with a cab like the ones on the rsx-637f’s that were built for VIA a few years previous years, and the electrical system was stripped out and replaced with a multisystem one that produced 6000 HP instead of the 3600 HP it originally produced.

It is still in operation, spending most of its time on the Parsons Vale’s east-west mainline from St John NB to Chicago IL.
