When Gatineau, Chelsea, and La Pêche formed the Compagnie de Chemin de Fer de l'Outaouais to operate trains up to Wakefield (on the stub of CP’s Ottawa & Gatineau Valley Railway), they chose the Ottawa Central as their freight operator, which continued up until the floods of 2011 destroyed the line.
Ottawa Central is still, on paper, the freight operator for this line, but since the line is out of service (and, as time goes by, it looks less and less likely that the flood damage will ever be repaired) no freight is being carried and the only traffic that the OC sees is occasional containers being trucked up the valley.
