The OCTM Professional Development Cadre is offering a two-day Number Talks Institute on Wednesday, June 27 and Thursday, June 28, 2018 in Portland from the Mathematics Education Collaborative (MEC), with facilitator Patty Lofgren. Cost is $175 for OCTM members or $200 for non-OCTM members; you can pay using the link at the bottom of this page, or following directions in this flyer. Price includes Making Number Talks Matter book by Cathy Humphreys and Ruth Parker and lunch on both days. This price is a significant discount from the usual cost for a Number Talks Institute thanks to underwriting by OCTM.
The Mathematics Education Collaborative’s Number Talks Institute brings the Standards for Mathematical Practice to life. Whether you have tried number talks with your students before or are new to this transformative classroom activity, the two-day institute will help you learn how to make Number Talks an essential component of your everyday teaching.
